40m tonight

We will do some more 40m tonight with a short spell on 80 at SR. No 160m.

30th March

We will QRT at our sunrise on 1st April, then take down most of the antennas. We may leave up the 15/12/10m dipole and operate on these bands during the 1st.

No plans to do any more RTTY.

We plan to operate 15m rtty through the day on Monday. This is very likely your only chance to get us on RTTY. NA should get on as early as possible as we plan LF again in the evening.

80m and 30m tonight

We will be on 80 and 30m tonight.

Pictures

The antennas are all near each other on the rocky shore. On the left is the LF Battlecreek. To it's right you can see the vertical dipole for 15/12/10m, this hangs from a palm tree. Finally on the far right a GP for 30/20/17m.. Not in the picture is a N6RK design receive loop for 160 and 80m, this is working very well

160m tonight

Plan to be on 160m and 30m tonight.

Hot and big pileups!

Having fun and the pileups huge, good run on 40 last night with 1050 qso's. Had to take down the Battlecreek clone this morning, 160m loading wire tangled with 80m loading wire. Yesterday the 160m loading wire dropped after the insulator arced during a storm. Hopefully it will remain working from now on. Antennas are:
Battlecreek clone on a 18m Spiderpole, 160 - 80 - 40
Quarter wave vertical, 30 - 20 - 17
Vertical dipole, 15 - 12 - 10
All on the the sea shore.

Still single station, this is still giving us more than enough operating time,

Three weeks to go

We are almost ready. License is issued, flights and accomodation booked. Just some antenna testing to complete and we will be ready. We have tried to get access to 7000 to 7050Khz without success, however we do have full access to 80m. We plan to update this blog during the trip.
